Ordering

Order what the sales say you'll need.

Purchase orders drafted from your real consumption, sent to the supplier, received line by line, and reconciled against the invoice. The loop closes without a spreadsheet.

    01

    Suggested, not guessed

The draft starts from 28 days of your consumption plus a buffer you pick. No sales history yet? It tops up to par instead, and says so.

    02

    Sent like you mean it

A clean purchase order as a PDF with your letterhead, or emailed to the supplier straight from methodus.

    03

    Received with eyes open

Line by line at the delivery: exact, short, or over. Variances are flagged on the spot, not discovered at month-end.

Buy the same bottle for less.

Supplier optimization compares effective prices across your suppliers, rebates, listing fees and volume deals included, and shows the monthly saving per swap, plus which recipes it touches.

    1 point

One point of food cost recovered is 10 to 20% of net profit on a typical 5–10% margin. Ordering is where points are won or lost.

    Forecast

The order writes its own first draft.

    • Demand from your last 28 days of sales, with a buffer of 0 to 25% you choose per order.
    • Edit or exclude any line; kitchen and bar forecast separately.
    • Active supplier promos overlay the draft, with the saving counted where it applies.
    Delivery day

The van arrives, the order answers.

    • Receive line by line, or fill-as-ordered in one tap and correct only what differs.
    • Short and over deliveries stay flagged on the order, with quantities, for the conversation with the rep.
    • Or photograph the delivery note: items matched, prices updated, margin impact previewed.

Ordered by phone? Start from the invoice.

Plenty of ordering happens on WhatsApp and at the market. Photograph the invoice afterwards and methodus builds the purchase order retroactively, so the record exists without the ceremony.

    Deals

    Deals, measured in real money.

Retro per bottle, listing fees, volume tiers, free goods: supplier deals are compared at their effective price, not the brochure price.

    • Each alternative shows its effective price once rebates, fees and discounts are netted out.
    • Annual savings against what you buy today, bottle size accounted for.
    • Deals about to expire are flagged before the value quietly lapses.

    Common questions

Where do the suggested quantities come from?

From 28 days of your consumption plus your buffer. Without sales history it tops up to par levels, and the draft says which method it used.

Can I send the order to my supplier from methodus?

Yes: by email directly, or as a PDF with your letterhead if you prefer to send it yourself.

    The delivery came in short.

Receive it line by line: exact, short, over or skipped. The variance stays on the order with the quantities, so the credit conversation has its paper.

I order by phone and get the invoice later.

Photograph the invoice and methodus creates the purchase order retroactively. The record exists; your habits don't have to change.

    Does it compare suppliers?

Yes. Effective prices across suppliers with rebates and deals netted in, the monthly saving per swap, and the recipes each swap touches.

    What about the promo flyers?

Upload them. Promos are extracted, matched to your ingredients, and shown inside the order draft with the saving counted.

Kitchen and bar don't order the same way.

They don't, and methodus doesn't force them to: quick purchase lists for the kitchen brigade, supplier purchase orders where you want the formality, forecasts per module.

    Does receiving update my stock?

No. Receiving updates prices and flags variances; stock stays what you counted. Counts are the truth in methodus, and the next count captures the delivery.
